I'm a Product Manager / Designer hybrid,
and I like working with teams to solve problems.
I gather data to see the world through others' eyes,
so we can solve their real problems, not the ones we think they have.
And I test our solutions and iterate
to be sure they have meaning to the people we're trying to serve.

As a Product Manager
I research, listen,
strategize, generate requirements,
reach accord, support & deliver
I research, document,
design, test & iterate
I support, collaborate
& seek consensus
Precise thoughtful documentation is essential for buy in from stakeholders, coworkers and the implementation team. We all have to agree on the problem if we ever hope to come together on a solution. Analytics, user testing, competitive analysis, mental mapping and simply discussing things around a whiteboard play an essential role in determining how best to move forward.
After discussion and research I work rapidly to create prototypes that stakeholders, developers, engineers, customers and coworkers all interact with until we agree that we're addressing our problem and will delight our audience. I test, improve and iterate until we have a design that is ready for production.
Randy has always been an advocate for collecting and analyzing user feedback in order to improve upon product design and flow. He is efficient and effective, and is always brainstorming ideas to improve design and user interfaces.
Not only is Randy a talented and visionary designer; he's also an excellent manager. He leads by example, not by intimidation, and therefore quickly gains the trust and appreciation of his employees.
Because of his extensive experience and his expertise, I relied on him many times to help me conceptualize and think through various approaches to projects.
...he dramatically improved the User Experience and the visual direction of our product. He is knowledgeable, quick, and reliable, often doing the often-requested-but-impossible: "getting it done yesterday."
In spite of the enviable skill set under his belt, Randy is one of the most modest persons I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. He’s pleasant to work with and has a knack for building and improving others’ ideas without taking away anything from anyone.
